Ons gecertificeerde rotan wordt duurzaam geoogst uit de Indonesische bossen.
Het verwerken van rotan is net zo arbeidsintensief als dat van hout. Nadat het riet is afgesneden, wordt het gedroogd, schoongemaakt en worden de schil en doornen ervan afgepeld. De rotan wordt op de juiste maat gesneden en krijgt een milieuvriendelijk gespoten finish. Onze handwerkers weven de rotan volledig met de hand, met behulp van verschillende technieken. Tenslotte gaat de rotan in een ovendroogmachine voor een beter en duurzamer rotan.
