The weaving of banana bark is traditionally done by local crafters from small villages on Java. Banana bark as a raw material is incredibly durable and sustainable: as banana trees bear fruit only once per lifetime, they are often cut down and discarded right after bearing fruit. Instead of discarding them after flowering, our craftsmen cut the banana bark down and take the pieces off to dry.
